About Me
Welcome to fourth grade! My name is Maggie Payne and this is my fifth year at Double File Trail. I’ve taught for a total of twelve years in both third and fourth grade. I am a born and raised Texan and Round Rock native! I went to Old Town Elementary, Cedar Valley Middle School, and then I graduated from Round Rock High School. For college, I didn’t go to far down the road to San Marcos, where I graduated from Texas State University with my Bachelor of Science degree. I then went back and earned my Masters in Elementary Curriculum.

I love Round Rock so much, that my husband, Brett, and I are raising our two daughters here! Harper is a second grader and Hadley is in preschool. They keep us very busy! I love spending time with family, especially at the beach or the pool! I also enjoy kickboxing and working out.
Even though I have only been teaching for twelve years, I have actually been a teacher since I was five years old. I knew from a very young age that my calling was to be a teacher. I absolutely love working with students every day and seeing their growth and progress. I believe it is my job to create lifelong learners and problem solvers. My husband works for a web development and coding company. He talks about how it’s a challenge to teach the course because the content is changing and evolving daily. As my students grow, the future of jobs and our world are changing rapidly. I want to help my students be able to evolve and change in order to be successful leaders in our society. Family and parent involvement is key to a child’s success. As a teacher, I want to work with parents and families in order to help my students reach their full potential. Every child can learn and grow, but not necessarily in the same way. I encourage families to provide me feedback and information in order for me to best reach every child. I’m so excited about the school year and all the memories we will make! Please feel free to contact me via email or phone. Thank you for the opportunity to work with your child this year! It is a very special gift! |
