About Me
This is my second year teaching 4th grade, and I could not be more excited to come back and continue learning along with your student! I could not ask for a better group of people to work with, and I know your children will love them too!

I was born in Ohio, and went to college there, but moved to Texas in 2011 to pursue a degree that integrated teaching English as a Second Language. My husband and I love living here, and really enjoy growing along with the city!
I am a lover of history, reading, gardening, travel, and four legged friends. I live in Austin with my husband, Titus, and our two fur babies: Daisy and Haddy.

Teaching Philosophy
As the above quote states, I do not want to limit your children to my own learning. I strive to learn every day along with your children, as the world around us is full of growth and change, and I don't want to be stuck in a learning rut!
I believe that every child can learn, but they do not all learn in the same way. It is my goal to create lessons that allow every child to learn in the way that works best for them, through the use of technology, student grouping, and student-centered activities and projects in which each student can build their own understanding! I will teach my students to be self-motivated, create their own educational goals, and take ownership of their education.
Through weekly meetings, your students and I will create a classroom culture of teamwork and empathy. I will educate both the mind and the soul, creating good classroom citizens who will become good world citizens.
It is my ultimate goal to include every family in our learning, and I will encourage your children to bring their culture into our classroom community. We can all learn so much from one another! Family is very important in my life, and I want to honor each family, and the ways in which they enrich the lives of each of my students, within our classroom community.
